OSCO captures flavours from the South of France in their balanced and fresh aperitifs. Expect a delicate surprise on the palate thanks to the Verjus. The aromatic complexity of the unique blends of plants and spices and a bittersweet touch of gentian add pleasant length. The OSCO name echoes the Occitan exclamation that resounded in the markets when the right weight, the right measure, was reached. “OSCO! Bravo, well done!”
Process:
OSCO Le Rouge Ardent is crafted through a meticulous process that revives ancient French viticultural traditions. Its key ingredient, verjus (juice from grapes harvested before full ripeness), offers a local, sustainable alternative to citrus, once widely used in medieval cuisine and now favoured by top chefs. Every element reflects French craftsmanship: the verjus originates from Périgord, infusion plants are cultivated in France, natural flavours are developed in Provence, labels are printed in Bas-Rhin, and bottling takes place near Tours. Made from organic farming practices, OSCO contains no preservatives and avoids dealcoholization, staying true to a philosophy of natural integrity and authenticity.
Tasting Notes:
A vibrant fusion of red fruits and spices. It opens with a crisp, citrus-like acidity, followed by a medley of red berry flavours such as cherry and blueberry, complemented by warming spices like ginger. The palate is further enriched with subtle herbal nuances and a gentle bitterness, providing a complex and refreshing experience.
Best Enjoyed:
Over ice, mix 1 part OSCO Le Rouge Ardent with 2 parts tonic water or ginger ale. Garnish with an orange twist.
