Liberated from alcohol does not only describe the removal of the substance, it also describes the liberation from our drinking culture. Liberation from norms and the preconceived notion that alcohol is an integral part of celebratory occasions. Liberation is the ability to choose between with or without alcohol. Liberation is a desired outcome of democratization which is exactly what we intend to do with the dinner table.

Process:

The world’s first low-intervention wine – liberated from alcohol.

A juicy blend of Garganega and Vespaiola grapes native to Breganze, a town in the Veneto region of Italy. Fermented spontaneously, hand harvested and 100% organic.

Tasting Notes: 

Aromas of white flower, tangerine, almonds and honey.

The wine is characterized by a high salinity/minerality given by the special terroir: old volcanic soil, steep slopes, high altitude, constant cold breeze and high-temperature fluctuations between day and night.

Best Enjoyed:

With creamy pasta dishes or shellfish.

Moa Gürbüzer founded Oddbird with a vision to question and change the alcohol norms of society. She wanted the question “Do you want your wine with or without alcohol?” to be as common as “Do you want your coffee with or without milk?”

White wine alternative

I found this NA wine very sweet. I usually drink very dry, low sugar wines so I am not sure if all NA wines are sweeter on the palate. I added Perrier to offset the sweetness.
